| Although we would love to hear from anyone with connections to our family we are primarily looking for ancestors of my Grandfather Max Alfred Walter Neuendorf, born 21 December 1907 in Rheinsberg, Brandenburg, Germany. We have also been searching for his Niece Ursula, or members of her family. We do not know her surname. Max's sisters married gentleman with the surname Paul and Frahm. We do not know the christian names of their husbands. On a more local level, we have traced some roots back to Tasmania during its convict years but are having trouble connecting them back to families in the countries they came from, mainly the UK and Ireland. We are looking for details on John Avery born circa 1784 England, who arrived on the "Calcutta" in 1804, and Margaret Dann (alias Mary Ann Dunn) circa 1784, Ireland. Margaret came over on the "Catherine". Thank you to those who provided us with new leads for Daniel Hatfield born 1795 in Prussia, Poland and his wife Anne Hyndes who came from Ireland, DOB circa 1811. A Daniel Hadfield, aged 37 arrived on the "Parmelia" 16 November 1832 as a convict. Occupation as a soldier/hawker. Seven years for false pledging. Tried Lancashire Quarter Sessions on 24 October 1831.No former convictions. Died in a sulky accident in a country town west of Sydney. Partly confirmed by a Coroner's inquest into the death of Daniel Hatfield ý(AO Reel 2921 - Nov 1852 to April 1859 - inc Nos 6899-11945. Location of Original 4/6613)ý The Actual report has not survived, only the entry in the Registrar which reads "Daniel Hatfield - Visitation from God No 9184 Sydney 5 October 1855. Coroner, C Brennan 29 November 1855". There was no inquest for Ann Hatfield, and no dc for Daniel. The is no evidence of where the accident occurred or where he was buried. We would LOVE to be in contact with Barbara Gibb who's site we found the information on, but her email links were out of date!! Frustrating!! James Stevens born circa 1818 in England and his wife Mary Callaway circa 1832. We know their daughter Ellen was born in Campbelltown Tasmania in 1867 ( her 8 siblings were also born in various areas of Tasmania) but we dont know if they were the ones shipped from the UK or if their parents were..... John Campbell was born in Scotland in 1838 to parents John Campbell and Margaret Buchannan. No more info on them at this stage, check out the tree for details on Johns birth. We have a little more information on Margaret McNee and her parents who come from the areas of Lochearn Head and Balquhidder, Scotland. Please contact us if you think you may be related or if you can help us find UK and Scotland convict lists or free birth death and marriages sites. Thanks!! | ||
